New business startups are booming in the Quinte region.
Trenval Business Development Corporation reports that it has had its second consecutive record-breaking year.
Executive Director Glenn Kozak says that in the last two years the corporation has put out loans for business startups worth just under $5 million.
Kozak says the typical failure rate for small business is 50% in the first five years but last year in the Quinte region it was 65%.
