It was almost like Christmas as Belleville politicians and CFB Trenton leaders exchanged gifts and compliments at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
8 Wing Base Commander Colonel Colin Keiver and Chief Warrant Officer Darcy Elder presented Mayor Taso Christopher with a certificate commemorating Belleville’s 200th birthday and a photograph from the Freedom of the City event at city hall recently.
The Colonel thanked council and residents for their continuing support of CFB Trenton and its personnel.
Meanwhile, the Mayor presented the Base Commander with the Key to the City.
Mayor Christopher said both military men were a credit to the community, calling the Base Commander a “classy individual”.
Both Colonel Keiver and Chief Warrant Officer Elder will be leaving CFB Trenton in the coming days.
