After more than a dozen seasons as an assistant coach in the Ontario Hockey League Belleville native Jason Surpryka is moving up to the NHL.
Supryka is joining the Los Angeles Kings as a pro scout. Supryka says this path helps him reach one of his goals.
Supryka spent ten seasons as an assistant coach with the Belleville Bulls. When they suddenly left he moved on to a similar position with the Kingston Frontenacs. Supryka says a long term relationship with Kings Assistant General Manager Mike Futa and Belleville’s move to the American Hockey League were factors in his favour.
Suprykas’s primary scouting region will include the AHL’s North Division.
