While the campaign seemed slow at times, a last-minute surge has led to great results, for the Good Baby Box Food Drive.
The program put on by the Community Development Council of Quinte has surpassed its 9,300 jar total by bringing in a whopping 17,187 jars of baby food.
Organizers say in the last few days of the campaign, they had only brought in 1,700 jars, but the donations came in fast and furious in both jars of food and cash gifts., surpassing the goal by almost 8,000 jars.
Last year’s campaign handed out just under 7,000 good baby boxes to more than 1,000 children in the Quinte Region.
