Belleville firefighters responded quickly to a west end vehicle fire in the lunch hour today (Wednesday) and kept it from causing widespread damage.
The vehicle was up in flames in a parking lot behind a Sidney Street apartment building.
Flames were doused quickly enough to keep them from spreading to a garage nearby.
The vehicle was destroyed, causing about $12,000 damage.
The cause is under investigation.
