A 40 year old Belleville man will likely serve time in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking in cocaine this week.
A report in the Intelligencer says, although formal sentencing won’t take place until July 28, both the prosecution and defence suggest Russell Barriage should serve 18 months behind bars.
In March of last year, Barriage and a co-accused, Elizabeth Beattie were charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine after 4 separate police raids.
Beattie previously pleaded guilty to possession and was sentenced to one day in jail and 12 months probation. However, she had already been in custody for 120 days previous to the sentencing.
