A black bear was sighted early Wednesday in Marmora.
Around 5:00 a.m., Central Hastings OPP were called to Bursthall Street, however the bear was not located.
Officers talked to business owners about keeping their garbage bins closed.
You are reminded to keep garbage in waste containers with tight lids, to put waste out on the morning of pickup and to clean outdoor grills routinely.
Keeping dogs on a leash and picking ripe fruit you are growing are also important to lowering the risk of running into a bear.
