The Belleville Senators have added a new staff member behind the bench.
The American Hockey League franchise announced today that Paul Boutilier will join the club as an assistant coach, after spending the past three seasons with the QMJHL Saint John Sea Dogs, helping them to a President’s Cup Championship this year.
Boutilier was a first round pick of the New York Islanders in 1981, winning a Stanley Cup in 1983 and also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 1982 World Junior Hockey Championships.
Boutilier also spent NHL playing time in Boston, Minnesota and Winnipeg, with coaching stints at Dalhousie University and with Canada’s Under 17 team, winning a silver medal.
