Starting this weekend, the Belleville Public Library will be open on Sundays.
Beginning June 18 the library will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Library Board, with support from the Mayor and Council of the City of Belleville, pursued the addition of these new service hours after receiving feedback from the public. The board said it looks forward to offering services on Sundays including free wireless internet and public computers. It will be a cooling centre for the City during the summer with air conditioning and access to a water fountain and bottle re-filling station.
“As chair of the Library Board I would like to say how pleased we are to open on Sunday for the convenience of our customers,” said board chair Councillor Garnet Thompson. “We look forward to these expanded service hours and to serving our customers seven days a week.”
