Prince Edward County has decided to open and name a new road leading to the Age in Place Lands in Picton as Wellings Drive.
Tuesday night, council voted to open and assume as a public roadway the access road from Finnegan Drive to Wellings of Picton.
In a report, it stated staff in consultation with Nautical Lands Group recommended the formal assumption and naming of Wellings Drive.
In March, council named Finnegan Drive after former Prince Edward Memorial Hospital Foundation board chair Leo Finnegan as he is a strong advocate for a new hospital.
