Nearly 100 mothers-to-be participated in a federally-funded Canada Prenatal Nutrition program for low income families, run by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health last year.
The program, which received $86,000 in federal funding in 2016, provides services such as milk and prenatal vitamins, monthly groceries and infant feeding support.
It is run in Quinte West, North Hastings, and Belleville.
During Wednesday’s Board of Health meeting, Mayor Jo-Anne Albert of Tweed questioned why it wasn’t offered in the Centre Hastings area.
Officials said it had been offered in Madoc a number of years ago but was closed down because of low participation.
