People love BBQ’d chicken and that has been proven yet again in Belleville Wednesday.
The Belleville Kiwanis Club set a record time at its annual BBQ, selling out the maximum of 1,700 half chicken dinners by 11:30 a.m.
Belleville Kiwanian Marjorie Buck says after costs, the club raised around $14,000, which will be used to fund high school bursaries, elementary school awards, and the “Terrific Kids” program.
The Kiwanis Chicken BBQ will enter its 25th year next year.
