Her passport would be the envy of some travel agents and it’s about to get another stamp. Belleville’s Jackie Jarrell will suit up for the Canadian Womens In-Line Hockey team for the tenth time when they travel to Nanjing China for the World Championships in August.
Team Canada has won 2 gold medals along with 6 silver and a bronze in Jarrell’s 9 previous appearances which have taken her to Spain, France, the Czech Republic, Italy and Germany. She was named the Most Valuable Player in the 2012 Worlds in Columbia.
Jarrell puts her tenth appearance on the world stage in perspective.
Jarrell says this years’ Canadian team has a nice mix of veterans and youth.
Although she says she’s nearing the end of her International career, Jarrell doesn’t see her role changing in China.
Jarrell leaves for China in late August. The games run until September 11th.
Jackie Jarrell was Belleville’s “Athlete of the Year” in 2012.
