Prince Edward OPP have charged two people with indignity to a dead body after being called to investigate a complaint of grave tampering in Wellington Tuesday afternoon.
At 4:10 p.m. OPP began an investigation and determined that two people, a 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman would be charged with indignity to a dead body (cremation ashes). During the investigation, OPP determined that a physical altercation had occurred between the pair. As a result of that investigation the man was also charged with assault.
Both parties have been held for a Show Cause Hearing scheduled for 1:00 p.m. June 7, 2017 at the Provincial Court of Justice, 15 Bridge Street West, Belleville. Their names will not be released to protect the victim.
