A handful of provincial offences for liquor violations were issued Tuesday as hundreds of students in Prince Edward County flocked to the Sandbanks for the annual Beach Day festivities.
Prince Edward OPP say they engaged in active enforcement activities at various locations surrounding and inside the Provincial Park.
OPP report several proactive focused patrols were conducted with vehicles and park attendees checked throughout the day. Four notices were issued to park attendees for liquor act violations.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, OPP observed a vehicle traveling south on County Road 49 near Fish Lake Road at an excessive speed. OPP stopped the vehicle and charged the vehicle driver with Performing a Stunt- Excessive Speed under the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s license was suspended for seven days and their vehicle was impounded for the same time period.
