Quinte West has received provincial approval to build a new OPP headquarters.
Mayor Jim Harrison told the Quinte West Chamber OPP luncheon Friday the city received official confirmation this week that Infrastructure Ontario has approved plans to build a new facility just west of the current Trenton location.
Mayor Harrison said this is great and much anticipated news for the City as the approval took two years to receive.

He explained the municipality is looking at a facility that will meet the needs of the city and a rapid developing police department and first responders.
Mayor Harrison provided an early estimate of $10 million to build the facility but added that is dependent on many variables like space required.
