David Franks’ family is reaching out on social media after a week-long search for the 24-year-old Ameliasburgh man came to an end Thursday night.
Just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening, OPP confirmed they found the body of a man near Massassauga Point. They haven’t confirmed whether or not it was Franks however the OPP Communications Centre tweeted late Thursday night that he was found and thanked the public for their assistance.
On Friday afternoon, a post thanking the community and expressing love for David Franks was posted on the Find Franks Facebook Page that has been dedicated to posting search updates.
A post mortem on the body pulled from Massassauga Point is scheduled for Friday. OPP Constable Connor Durkin said at this time he is not able to say that the body of the man has been positively identified.
