Prince Edward OPP have now expanded an extensive air and land search to the water in an effort to find missing 24-year-old David Franks.
On Thursday, the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) began searching the Saugeen Marsh on County Road 28 by a large culvert that goes under Highway 62. OPP and military choppers took to the sky Tuesday in hopes of finding the Prince Edward County man who was last seen at his residence near County Road 28 on May 23.
Constable Connor Durkin confirmed the team is in the water but couldn’t comment any further on their role specifically due to the ongoing investigation.
It’s believed Franks woke up early May 24 to go for a jog. He is described as 6’3, 203 pounds with shaggy brown hair. Franks was last wearing dark athletic attire with a weighted vest and dark steel-toed shoes.
A social media campaign on Facebook called Find Franks has been providing the public and volunteers with information in an effort to locate him.
