Jaclyn McLaren’s employment with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has been terminated
The former teacher at Tweed Elementary was sentenced to two years last Friday on sex crimes against her former students, some under the age of 16.
At its meeting Tuesday night, the board approved a motion titled “Termination of Employment of a Teacher with Just Cause.”
In March, McLaren pleaded guilty to seven of the 42 charges against her including sexual exploitation, possessing child pornography, sexual interference, two counts of child luring and two counts of making explicit material available to a person under 16.
Along with the two year prison term, McLaren was also given two years probation. She is on the sex offender registry for life, cannot attend public places or work where children under 16 frequent and is prohibited from using the internet for 10 years.
