Things are looking up as far as the operations of the Belleville Downtown Improvement Area are concerned.
BIA board member, and Treasurer, Jamie Troke, says the recently hired part-time Executive Director, Marilyn Lawrie, has done a good job making sense of sloppy bookeeping from the last half of 2016.
It was in those months that the Belleville BIA experienced a lot of staff turnover.
Troke said Ms. Lawrie now has the financials under control.
Meanwhile, an auditor’s report for 2016 shows the BIA’s finances to be in good shape
