A young couple fought with police early this morning (Saturday) on North Front Street in Belleville.
An officer on patrol stopped after seeing a young man and woman arguing around 2:30 this morning.
It was alleged the man had struck the woman. But when officers tried to arrest the man, he fought back, and the woman jumped on one of the officers’ backs.
With the help of other officers, both were arrested.
The man had fake I.D. showing he was 20 years old, but was actually only 17. The woman was 18 years old.
The boy was charged with domestic assault, resisting arrest, and obstructing police. The woman was
charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
No one was injured. Alcohol was a factor in the incident.
