One of the Quinte Region’s biggest fishing tournaments is back for a 37th year.
The Kiwanis Walleye World Fishing Derby goes this weekend, starting just after midnight this Saturday morning and running through until Sunday night.
The Kiwanis Club’s Remco DeGooyer tells Quinte News, the recent weather may not be great for people who want to get out and enjoy the spring season, but it should make for some outstanding fishing.
DeGooyer adds, about 3,000 anglers have already registered and they’re expecting more to sign up prior to the Friday night deadline.
DeGooyer says those fishermen and women will be casting a line for some great prizes.
