The Hastings Prince Edward School Board has approved millions of dollars in capital projects.
During Tuesday night’s meeting, numerous infrastructure projects were rubber stamped.
Several roofing projects include:
Crawford Roofing for roof replacements and associated work at PECI for $1.7 million
Amherst Roofing for roof replacements and associated work at Tyendinaga Public School $204,000
Dafoe Roofing for roof replacements at Centennial Secondary School for just over $250,000 and Trenton High School for just under $600,000
French Brothers Roofing for roof replacements and associated work at Centre Hastings Secondary School for more than $440,000
ICI Roofing for roof replacements at Prince Charles School (Belleville) for $331,000
At Centre Hastings Secondary, a window project will cost almost $365,000. The lifespan of the windows in the east wing has passed.
At Massassaga Rednersville Public, K Knudsen Construction will do an expansion and retrofit of the child care classroom. An infant sleep area, new washrooms and a new pre-school room are part of the $206,000 tender.
Finally, trustees approved short term financing for the addition and renovations at Marmora Senior. $3.73 million will be made available for the upgrades, to bring students over from Earl Prentice.
