The Trenton Golden Hawks are a victory away from back-to-back Buckland Cup championships.
They defeated the Georgetown Raiders 5-2 on the road Saturday night to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven final series.
Trenton got goals from five different sources, including Liam Morgan, Jeremy Pullara, Chris Sekelyk, Lucas Brown and Jordan Chard. Chris Janzen stopped 28 of 30 Georgetown shots in the win.
Morgan says a fast start was the key to victory.
Defenceman Chays Ruddy says the team played a solid road game in a tough building in Georgetown.
The boys from Quinte West will look to wrap up the OJHL portion of their season Sunday night on home ice. If you can’t make it out to the rink, you can turn your radio dial to 800 CJBQ. Jack Miller has the broadcast for Eastern Overhead Doors starting at 6:50, puck drop is 7 p.m.
