A month long strike at Community Living Campbellford/Brighton is over!
A strong majority of the over 70 voters cast ballots in favour of a new 2 year contract today (Sunday).
Almost 100 members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, Local 316, went on strike March 22 with the main issue being a demand that using personal vehicles at work be a condition of employment.
In the end, management left personal vehicle use as an option for employees.
The contract ends in March of 2018, and union members will see a 45 cent an hour raise over the life of the contract.
The employees, who care for people with severe mental and physical challenges, will begin returning to work Tuesday.
