A couple of local sports notes for today. The Quinte Ten Pin Bowling Association presents the 4th Annual Quinte Bowl Youth Baker Doubles tournament. There is a minimum $2000. scholarship prize payout to at least the top 5 teams. It’s taking place this afternoon at the Quinte Bowl. There is a $50 entry fee per team. Registration opens at 12:30. Practise begins at 1:15 with bowling at 1:30.
The Belleville Bulldogs are holding a free “Try Rugby Day” today at Mary Ann Sills Park. From 10 until noon junior players from Under 14 to Under 18 are on the pitch. From noon until 2 all players from grades 1 to 8 are invited to try rugby.
