After a 7 year absence, the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame is back in business and working toward Induction Ceremonies on September 16th.
But while the Hall of Fame has been around since 1988, it has never truly had a home as inductee pictures have dotted the stairways at the Quinte Sports Centre. That has now changed. The Hall of Fame is moving to the east side of the Wellness Centre where it will be housed in the Dr. R. L. Vaughan Atrium on the second floor. It will include display cases, videos and of course plaques honouring the inductees.
Hall of Fame President Dave Mills, himself an inductee, announced the launching of a major $40,000 fund raising campaign to secure the long term sustainability of the shrine. Funds will also offset operating costs, which include the annual Induction Ceremony and the new website.
There are various levels of sponsorship and charitable donations will receive recognition and a tax receipt. More details are available at bellevillesportshalloffame.com. You can also e-mail president@bellevillesportshalloffame.com.
