Talks aimed at ending a strike by about 100 unionized workers who provide services to intellectually disabled adults in east Northumberland County have broken down again.
The workers walked off the job on March 22nd, with wages and transportation being the two main issues in their dispute with Community Living Campbellford-Brighton.
A local official with the Ontario Public Service Employees Union says the latest offer was presented to the members yesterday but it was decided it wouldn’t be ratified if it went to a vote.
Courtney Huycke (hike) says union officials will meet with the Minister of Community and Social Services Helena Jaczek in Toronto today to discuss the ongoing strike.
