The State of Emergency in Prince Edward County is officially over.
Mayor Robert Quaiff announced Tuesday that following clean water tests over the last several days, there has been no product in the water or the water lines which would constitute concern.
Quaiff says although the State of Emergency is over, they will continue diligent water testing at the Picton Water Treatment Plant and the work of the Emergency Control Group is far from over.
Meanwhile yesterday, Prince Edward County was given close to $738,00 for further upgrades on the plant, which could also include exploring the option of closing the Picton Bay water intake and taking water from Wellington instead.
He says they are also meeting to see how to best avoid a similar incident.
