With April being Oral Health Month, Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is promoting some of its year-round free dental programs for kids and teenagers.
The health unit operates free oral health clinics, along with the Healthy Smiles Ontario Program, for patients up to 17 years of age and can start providing those services as soon as a baby’s teeth start coming in.
Program Manager Shelly Brown tells Quinte News all you have to do is book an appointment for a free initial screening, to see if your kids are eligble for the HSO program.
Meanwhile, Brown says health unit staff are also spending the month travelling around to area schools and educating more than 600 grade two and three students on the basics of taking care of your teeth.
