Scores of fans raced to the Quinte Mall in Belleville on Saturday to meet some of their favourite Brighton Speedway drivers.
The annual meet and greet event offers an opportunity for fans to interact with top drivers, get autographs and check out the cars that will be hitting the dirt track in the upcoming season.
The season opens on April 29 at 7 p.m. and it will be one to remember as the speedway gets set to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Dirt Late Model #77 driver Caley Weese said all of the drivers are really excited for the season ahead praising the excellent schedule that the speedway has put together for fans.

Brighton Speedway’s 50th Anniversary Celebration is happening on July 15. The night brought to you by Deerhaven Farm & Garden & Mix 97 features OSCAAR Hot Rods, Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club, 50 Lap Late Model, 50 Lap Canadian Modified and 50 Lap Pro Stock. There will be a live band, classic race car display and memorabilia in the court yard from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wear a Brighton Speedway vintage T-shirt and receive $5 off admission.
Weese who has been racing for 15 years said as always, she is ready to hit the dirt track.
