Quinte Health Care was given an update on the works of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
During Tuesday night’s QHC board meeting, TMHF Board Chair Phil Wild updated trustees on recent fundraising efforts.
Wild announced $1.87 million for the 2017-18 fiscal year will be given to QHC and nearly $5.9 million was handed out over the last five years.
Wild says this year’s request was drastically higher than the year’s previous, because many residents and donors were not sure of the hospital’s future.
He says following last year’s announcement by Health Minister Dr. Eric Hoskins that day surgery would be staying, many came forward to help TMHF.
