The Wellington Dukes’ 2016-17 season came to a close last night.
The RBC Cup-hosting Cobourg Cougars downed the Dukes 4-2 in Game 5 of their Northeast Conference Semi-Final series in Cobourg.
Carter Allen and Colin Doyle scored for Wellington, while Connor Ryckman made 34 stops in his final junior hockey game.
Dukes Head Coach/GM Marty Abrams said despite the loss, he was proud of how far the team had come from the beginning of the year.
Captain Justin Bean played his final junior game last night. He says he will take a lot away from the season and his career as a whole.
With the victory, Cobourg gets set to take on the Trenton Golden Hawks in a conference final battle of East Division rivals. Schedule has yet to be determined.
