Investigators working on an almost nine year-old cold case are putting out some new information, in hopes of possibly finding out what happened to a missing Belleville man.
Sixty-five year-old Calvin Vanness, also known as “Buck”, was reported missing on April 1, 2008, after he didn’t show up to meet family a few days earlier.
His grey Pontiac Grand Prix had been found in a Kingston-area carpool lot the day he was reported missing, but Acting OPP Sergeant Angie Atkinson tells Quinte News, Vanness may not have been the one who left it there.
She adds the anniversary of his disappearance is a good time to bring the case back into the public spotlight.
Atikinson says the flames on the side and hood of the car would have made it quite noticeable if someone was driving around the area.
A $50,000 reward is also being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for his disappearance.
