Belleville Council will decide today on how its share of casino revenue will be split.
Staff is suggesting most of the money, or 65% be put into an account paying for capital projects.
It’s suggested that another 10% of revenues be set aside for economic development purposes.
The rest would be divided into accounts covering land acquisition, vehicle replacement, development infrastructure, non-profit social organizations, and disaster contingencies.
Depending on the casino’s success, annual revenues to the city could be as high as 3 or 4 million dollars.
