The Irish and Irish-at-heart filled local pubs to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Friday.
Many people dressed in green and full of festive cheer were eager to celebrate the holiday in Belleville.
It began as a religious feast day for the Irish patron saint. St. Patrick has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and wearing a whole lot of green.

Quinte News asked patrons at The Red Lion and Slap Shots in Belleville how they plan on celebrating St. Paddy’s Day.
Also on the night, a St. Patrick’s Day Festival hosted by Mix 97’s Orlena Cain is happening at the Armouries in Belleville from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door.
