Dozens of livestock have perished in a barn fire northwest of Brighton this morning (Thursday).
Around 6:30 a.m., Cramahe Township and Brighton crews were called to 420 Waite’s Road, where a barn was fully engulfed.
It took hours for the flames to be knocked down and Quinte News has been told the animals inside didn’t make it out.
It’s believed close to 100 sheep and some cattle died.
Equipment and hay were also in the structure, which was not near any other buildings.
