3 Quinte Regional “AAA” hockey teams are headed to championship tournaments this week.
The Quinte Rhino Sports Minor Midget Red Devils are in Toronto for the “OHL Cup” which begins tomorrow.
The Red Devils are ranked 6th in Ontario heading into the 20 team International championship. They’ll get a tough test right off the bat when they take on the 4th ranked Mississauga Rebels in their opening game tomorrow night.
The Bonn Law Red Devils have advanced to the OMHA Minor Peewee “AAA” Championships in Oakville with a 3-1 series win over the York Simcoe Express. Vincent Bellavance, Ethan Miedema and Jack Dever scored in the deciding 3-2 win.
And the Quinte Madison Excavating Red Devils advance to Markham for the OMHA showcase tournament. Gage Butcher scored the winner as Quinte edged York Simcoe 2-1 to win the series in 4. Landon Wright also scored while Dean Spry made key saves.
