Chief of Defence Staff General Jonathan Vance says the death of a Royal Canadian Air Force search and rescue technician is a reflection of the selflessness that characterizes the profession.
Master-Corporal Alfred Barr — a member of 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron at 17 Wing based at CFB Winnipeg, was killed during a training exercise near Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Wednesday.
Barr’s Facebook page says he was from Lethbridge, Alberta, and was engaged to be married.
The RCAF’s Directorate of Flight Safety is investigating.
