On Thursday, March 16th at 7:00 p.m. Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church in Trenton will host the choir as well.
The choir consists of 28 people (10 adults and 18 children).
The children range from 6 to 13 years of age.
The group arrived in Canada on January 15 for a tour which ends in July.
The Watoto Children’s Choir is a group of African children’s choirs based at the Watoto Church in Kampala, Uganda.
Watoto means “children” in Swahili.
Each child in the Watoto Choir has suffered the loss of one or both parents and now lives in a Watoto village.
The show is called “Signs and Wonders”, and demonstrates that each of our daily lives are signs and wonders of God’s work in us. This is evidenced by the miraculous transformation that Jesus works in people’s lives. We see this through the innocence of the children telling of their transformation from their dark past to the light that God has shone upon them,” says James Skinner, Creative Director of Watoto Choirs.
Watoto Children’s Choirs have traveled extensively since 1994, sharing a message of hope for Africa’s orphans and widows.
To date, the choir has toured six continents and performed to enthralled audiences in schools, retirement homes, churches, parliaments, state houses and royal palaces.
