The OJHL announced today that Wellington Dukes netminder Connor Ryckman has been named the Bardown Goaltender-of-the-Month for February after posting a 6-1-0 record during the month.
The 20-year old was instrumental in the Dukes’ success down the stretch-run, helping solidify their playoff position with all six of his victories coming within the North-East Conference. Posting a 2.13 goals against average and a .942 save percentage in February, Ryckman’s month included five 30+ save performances in eight contests.
He kicked off the month with a 37 save, 4-3 victory over Kingston, but the highlight of the month was a remarkable 44 save feat that preserved a 2-1 triumph over the conference-leading Trenton Golden Hawks.
Ryckman wins the award after previously being named runner-up, to Trenton’s Chris Janzen, in both September and December.
