Downtown Belleville is going to be a busy place this weekend.
Over 50 documentary films will be shown in various locations at the annual Downtown Belleville DocFest.
The kick-off event will be the DocFest Gala Friday night at the Empire Theatre featuring the film “Music of Strangers” with live music by Denielle Bassels and the MacDaddy’s after the film.
Holly Dewar, chair of the organizing committee, says they are thrilled with the numbers. They are sold out. She says it is great to see they are still interested in the festival.
Dewar says we are going to see a mix of films. Documentaries on art, government, environmental convens, along with Indigenous issues.
All 700 passes for DocFest have been sold but there will be rush tickets available at the door of the film venues.
