The record breaking construction activity in 2016 has led to a major increase in development charge revenue to the city.
Last year, new housing and commercial/industrial building led to a doubling of charges paid to the city by developers.
In 2016, over 2.1 million dollars in development charges were collected.
In 2015, just 1.1 million dollars entered the city’s coffers.
Meanwhile, Quinte West now has 5.4 million dollars in development charges sitting in a reserve account for infrastructure purposes.
Meanwhile, dollars as well as electricity are flowing from the roof of the Frankford arena.
Last year, the solar panel installation on the roof of the arena produced 207 thousand dollars revenue for
the City of Quinte West.
In the year before, 2015, the solar panels churned out 200 thousand for the city.
