The rain kept the crowds down, but hundreds of people still got out and enjoyed some delicious hot soup yesterday as part of the annual Savour the Chill and Stay a While event in downtown Belleville.
12 establishments served up samples of soup and other goodies, voting for their favourites as they went.
A panel of judges also toured the restaurants rating the soups.
In the end, it was unanimous. Nice Ice Baby Ice Cream won both the Judge’s and the People’s awards for their Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Soup with Pesto.
