Quinte Conservation is kicking off its 70th anniversary year with an outdoor family event at the Frink Centre on the Family Day Holiday.
Spokesperson Jennifer May-Anderson says there will be a long list of activities on this holiday Monday.
Proceeds from this event support the Wetland Ecology Boardwalk Revitalization Project.
This boardwalk is used by thousands of school children and visitors each year.
May-Anderson says “the boardwalk provides an excellent learning environment for schools and allows visitors to walk safely through the wetland without risk of contamination or harm to the surrounding habitats and ecosystems.”
She says parts of the boardwalk are in “dire need of repair.”
There will be a chance to roast hotdogs and marshmallows, and enjoy soup and bannock. Visitors are asked bring their own cup and spoon
