The Belleville Police Service responded to 53 calls for service between February 13th, 2017 at 5:00 a.m. and February 14th, 2017 at 5:00 a.m.
Theft of Food and Clothes
On February 13th, 2017 police responded to the report of a theft from Shoppers Drug Mart in the east end of Belleville. Prior to police arrival the female suspect had fled the scene. Police searched the area and located the female. Further investigation by the officers revealed that the 29 year old female from Belleville had stolen a quantity of food and clothes from both Dewes Independent Grocery and Shoppers Drug Mart. The female was also breaching her probation conditions. As a result, the female was arrested and charged with 2 counts of theft under $5000 and 4 counts of breaching her probation.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle
On the 13th of February 2017, police were called to a parking lot in the area of N. Front St and Bell Blvd for a vehicle that had been parked there prior to the recent snowfall. Investigation revealed that the 2002 Chevrolet had been reported stolen from the Frontenac area. The vehicle was removed from the area and the investigation is continuing.
