It’s going to be a Canada Day celebration like none before in the City of Belleville this summer.
At its meeting later this afternoon, council will see a staff report recommending that the Canada Day Committee be given a total of $100,000 from three different budgets and reserve accounts.
One hundred thousand dollars is much more than is usually granted to the Committee.
The extra cash would go to more and better entertainment and fireworks as part of Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations.
Belleville council meets this afternoon (Monday) at 4 o’clock at the Build Belleville offices beside the Legion on Pinnacle Street.
