A young man from Brighton has lost his license and car for a week, after being tagged for street racing in the town on Thursday night.
Officers conducting radar enforcement on Boes Road, clocked a car going more than double the 80 kilometre per hour speed limit, just after 3:30 in the afternoon.
Investigators say the 17 year-old driver had three passengers in his car as well and arrangements had to be made to get them all home, after the car was seized.
The driver’s name is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and he’ll make a court appearance in April to answer to the charge against him.
