On February 23, Quinte Conservation is holding a public information session on proposed improvements to the stormwater outfalls that drain into Mill Pond.
The format will be ‘Open House’ and residents are invited to drop in to the Deseronto Arena at 51 Mechanic Street anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Information boards will be on display and representatives from Quinte Conservation will be available to answer questions and provide information.
The project aims to improve water quality using conventional approaches to treat the stormwater which currently drains, untreated, directly into Mill Pond and then the Bay of Quinte.
The project is a cooperative effort between Environment Canada’s Great Lakes Sustainability Fund, Ministry of Environment’s Canada-Ontario Agreement for the Great Lakes, The Town of Deseronto, and the Quinte Conservation Authority.
This project is being planned under Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.
