Brighton Council has not set its budget for this year yet, but it is getting close.
One item that has been prominent in the media is live-streaming council meetings over the internet.
However, it looks as though live-streaming will not be part of the new budget.
At a previous meeting, council discussed the costs of live-streaming which were up to $3,000 for start-up and about $10,000 a year after that.
Councillors Ostrander and Baker tried to have it become part of this year’s budget, however, the idea was voted down.
Meanwhile, council is holding a public consultation meeting on the 2017 budget this Tuesday, February 7 at 6:30 in council chambers
